About Kell
Kell's life story is one of unwavering dedication and transformation, beginning with her early fascination with crafting Barbie homes and gardens. Her unique approach to play, focusing on the intricate details of these miniature abodes, was a sign of her deep-rooted connection to construction and design, nurtured by her family background in the industry. For years she forged tiles, bricks, wood, steel, fabrics, carpets, plants, even dirt and transformed her families 2000 sq.ft. unfinished basement into a sprawling neighborhood. This project of hers went on for years. Her bedside table was constantly spilling over with plant books, home plan books and architectural plans…. she was obsessed. Her Nana who raised her, shared this story for years to come. It’s no surprise her career path has been immersed in design, as well as entrepreneurship.
As she embarked on her journey into adulthood, Kell's love for plants and her keen interest in landscape fundamentals remained constant. After the birth of her daughter, she pursued a degree in Landscape Design and seamlessly transitioned her personal greenhouse into a thriving landscape design and container garden business, catering to numerous residential and commercial clients in Alberta, Canada. To meet the growing demand for visually appealing designs, she furthered her skills by obtaining certifications in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Structure Studios in 2017.
Kell's path took an exciting turn when she delved into desert landscapes and embarked on her first project in Arizona. Her talent quickly gained recognition, leading to organic referrals in the Outdoor Living design field. Recognizing the potential for her career to flourish in this new environment, she made the bold decision to relocate her family to Phoenix, Arizona.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the design build process, she partnered with a construction company. For three years, Kell immersed herself in every aspect, from accessory structure and pool construction to permitting laws, estimating, and budgeting. Her goal was to ensure that she could provide the best possible service to her future clients, knowing that a truly successful design requires mastery of every facet of the process.
In 2019, Kell amalgamated her two decades of landscape design experience with three years of graphic design and construction knowledge and the company she was with formed The Render Firm. Her journey, from her childhood fascination to founding her own company, is a testament to her enduring passion, relentless pursuit of knowledge, and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional design and build solutions.
